Hello Everyone!!!!!! My husband and I decided to do a much needed get away this weekend to Tulum, Mexico!!! And let me tell you guys, this place is awesome! We landed in Cancun and then took an hour and 1/2 drive over to Tulum where we stayed at the Luxury Bahia Principe Sian Khan. This part of the resort is adult only and very quiet. The occupants are older and much more reserved, which is fine, don’t get me wrong. The rooms here were ok, they weren’t exactly what we were hoping for so we ended up transferring to their sister resort Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal. The rooms here were better fit for our liking. Unfortunately, there weren’t any king bed rooms available so we agreed to do the double full size bed room. This side of the resort has a small section for adults only which we were able to relocate to and it was closer to the beach side of the property. You guys I can’t express this enough, this resort is HUGE!!! Its actually made up of 4 different resorts. There’s the Sian Khan, Akumal, Coba, and Tulum. There’s a casino, shows for your entertainment, great food, and golf carts driven daily by the staff to transfer you to the lobby of each hotel and to your rooms. So walking around this gigantic establishment is optional.
The food at this resort was delicious!!! There were only a few items that weren’t exactly that great, but for the most part, 99.9% of the food here was really good.
We even ventured off on one of our days there and took a taxi to Playa del Carmen to see the sights and get a taste of some authentic Mexican cuisine and we were not disappointed!!! The tacos, the rice and beans, the guacamole and salsa that was made tableside was something that I will never forget!!! Yes, It was that good!! Not to mention the frozen strawberry and pina colada margaritas, mmmmmm!!!!
The next day we decided to be slightly adventurous and involved ourselves in a Mayan Ruins excursion. The tour guides were amazing and the history was incredible, I highly recommend doing one of these tours while you are vacationing in Tulum. The ruins were surrounded by the beautiful beach and fantastic scenery.
All In all, this trip was everything my husband and I were expecting and more. As for now, Mexico is still a safe place to vacation despite what the news and media are flooding our brains with. We never felt fear for our lives or that we were somewhere that we shouldn’t be.
So grab your suitcase and get to Tulum, you will not regret it!!!!
